Journey to Easter 2010
Listening to each other; Responding to God
Lent has traditionally been a time for the church to pause and reflect upon its life and faith. In 2010 Maroubra Junction UCA will be engaged in that same journey - asking ourselves these questions;
"Where, in my life, have I most sensed God's presence and love?"
"How do I express my faith in everyday life?"
"What am I committed to in the coming year?"
This is not about public bragging or testing, but an invitation to explore your own sense of faith in Christ. We hope that this period of self-reflection and sharing will prepare us for Easter to be reclaimed by the Crucified and Risen Christ who calls us into life with him. On
Easter Sunday we will all be given an opportunity to make that recommitment - in many different ways. You might like to say a quiet prayer or light a candle during church; perhaps you'd like to share your hopes by writing a short reflection or even make a statement during worship. There are many ways to be involved.
Over the next 6 weeks, we are inviting one person a week to be interviewed during church. By answering those three short questions above - we hope to share our sense of faith with each other. Perhaps you might talk of your parents or a Sunday school teacher? Maybe you'll reflect upon being in the great outdoors? Or it could be for you a song or a bible passage that's important. Whatever it is we'd love to hear from you.

"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reasons for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." 1 Peter 3:15
